Mass Housing

The artwork reflects my research on Soviet and Russian cinema’s depiction of mass housing, tracing its evolution from symbols of progress in the ’60s to representations of poverty and violence in the ’90s. A melting film roll symbolizes time, shifts in perception, and societal control, culminating in a contemporary image of surveillance and fear in Russia.
